Scarlet macaws are beautiful, brilliantly coloured members of the parrot family that live in the Central and South American rainforests. The birds have large, powerful beaks that easily crack nuts and seeds whilst their dry, scaly tongues have a bone inside them that makes them an effective tool for tapping into fruits.
