Whiteboard Challenges

Challenge 1

Read the first sentence and identify where the inverted commas (speech marks) should go.

Challenge 2

Copy and complete the the second sentence with something the calf moose said out loud. Think about the correct punctuation (such as a question mark, exclamation or comma) to separate the spoken words from the reporting clause and don’t forget those important inverted commas.

Challenge 3

Write a sentence or two that includes something spoken aloud by either the calf or the mother moose that featured in the main clip. Don’t forget to include a reporting clause and think carefully about the different punctuation marks that you will need to use. You may want to use some of the words on the Word Wall.
