Clip Description

The flightless ostrich is the world’s largest bird. It is also the fastest two-legged animal on the planet. Found on the grassy plains of Africa, ostriches lay enormous eggs. A single egg can weigh as much as 24 chicken eggs!

In this fascinating clip, a pack of ravenous hyenas prove to be no match for an adult male ostrich, who is determined to prevent his chicks from ending up inside the predators’ tummies. What do you think makes an ostrich such a dangerous opponent? Watch the clip to find out.
