Clip Description

The land iguana is a cold-blooded reptile that can be found on some of the volcanic Galapagos Islands. It is yellowish in colour and has a spiky crest that runs along the length of its neck and back.

In this fascinating clip, we see a female land iguana making a treacherous journey into the crater of an active volcano. The steep slopes are prone to rockfalls, which could crush her if she isn’t careful. Why do you think she needs to get to the crater floor? Watch the clip to find out.
