  • Alliteration happens when words that start with the same sound (not just the same letter) are used repeatedly in a phrase or sentence.

e.g. The furry fennec fox flashed its fangs.

Write a poem about a fennec fox that uses alliteration.

  • Fennec foxes are listed as an endangered animal. Sadly, some people take fennec foxes from the wild so that they can be sold and kept as pets. Pretend that you are a fennec fox and write a letter explaining that even though you are cute, you shouldn’t be kept as a pet.
  • Fact files are non-fiction texts that teach you about certain things. Create a fact file for the fennec fox using the following subheadings: appearance, diet and habitat. The National Geographic Kids website is a great place to find additional facts about this remarkable desert specialist.
