  • In their search for insects and grubs to eat, armadillos can dig up quite a bit of land in a night. For this reason, some people (especially farmers) think armadillos are pests. Write a letter to a farmer explaining why armadillos are not pests and why farmers shouldn’t worry about them being on their land.
  • There are 21 different species of armadillo. Do some research and create a factfile about some of them. You have already met the biggest one, but how big is the smallest one? Maybe you could find out what they have in common and what is different about them.
  • You are a giant armadillo and the proud owner of Hotel Armadillo – a five-star burrow. Write an advertisement for your burrow, inviting other animals to come and stay a night or two. Don’t forget to use all of your persuasive writing skills.
