• Pandas eat the shoots, leaves and stems of bamboo. Because it isn’t very nutritious, they must eat lots of it. Can you write a recipe that includes bamboo and which will sound appealing to a panda? (You could mix the bamboo with vegetables and meat as pandas will ocasionally eat these foods.)
• Giant pandas have enlarged heads and faces to scare off predators. Write a description of a panda that highlights these features and makes it sound fearsome rather than cute.
• Giant pandas are endangered, which means that there aren’t very many of them left in the wild. Imagine you are one of the remaining giant pandas – what adventures would you get up to in your forest? Write a story about one of these adventures.
