Clip Description
Rheas are the largest birds in South America, measuring about 1.3 metres tall. They can be seen roaming the open grassland plains and sparse woodlands of Argentina and Brazil. They cannot fly, but have huge wings which help them to balance. The male rhea is in charge of making the nest, sitting on the eggs and looking after the chicks once they are born.
In this fascinating clip, we see two male rheas competing to win the affections of a female. They both perform some impressive moves, but are they dancing or fighting? Watch the clip to find out.
