Challenge 1

Avoid repetition and improve the first sentence by using either a pronoun or an alternative noun/noun phrase to describe the snub-nosed monkeys.

Challenge 2

Avoid repetition and improve the second of the two sentences by using your knowledge of pronouns. Once you have done this, see if you can make the sentence more descriptive by expanding the noun phrases – ‘the monkey’ and ‘the male’.

Challenge 3

Using some of the words from the Word Wall, write two scintillating sentences about a snub-nosed monkey. Avoid repetition (saying or writing the same thing over and over again) by using a pronoun to link your second sentence to your first.

2) The monkey wants to be accepted by the gang. The monkey hopes that he will be allowed to groom the male.
