Clip Description

The Arctic hare has a brilliant white fur coat that camouflages it in the snow. The coat is extremely thick, and this helps to keep its body warm in the freezing cold. Arctic hares will sometimes dig shelters in the snow and huddle together for warmth.

In this fascinating clip, hundreds of hares have gathered together for safety. Side by side, they have a much greater chance of escaping the mouths of ravenous wolves. Why do you think this is? Watch the clip to find out.
