Clip Description

A male proboscis monkey is immediately recognisable by its oversized nose, which is much larger and more bulbous than a female’s nose. In fact, the larger it is, the greater his chance of attracting a mate! Furthermore, a large nose also helps to make his presence known as it amplifies (makes louder) his honking noises.

In this fascinating clip, a group of proboscis monkeys must cross a crocodile infested river if they are to feast on the young, juicy leaves that are on the other side. Fortunately, proboscis monkeys are excellent swimmers. Incredibly, they are the only monkey species to have webbed feet. Will the ones who have fallen behind make it safely across? Watch the clip to find out.
