Living on the green, volcanic slopes of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, mountain gorillas are the world’s largest primates. They are usually found living together in communities of up to 30 individuals. Each community (or troop) is dominated by a single, older male called a silverback. Their name derives from the silver hair that adorns their otherwise dark fur.
In this fascinating clip, an enormous silverback must tolerate the mischievous antics of his young offspring. He is slapped, bitten and used as both a climbing frame and a trampoline by the youngster. How do you think this mountain of muscle will react? Watch the clip to find out.
