Clip Description

As winter approaches and food becomes increasingly scarce, Alaskan brown bears must fatten up by eating as much as they can before they go into hibernation.

In this fascinating clip, salmon are making their way upstream to lay their eggs in shallow water. This is where most brown bears gather to feed. However, some clever bears try to get first pickings by waiting for the salmon in the sea’s surf. How successful will these queue-jumping bears be? Watch the clip to find out.
