Parenthesis: pebble toad
Pebble toads can only be found on two mountains, which rise out of the rainforests of the Guiana highlands in South America. The toad’s tiny stature, shape and colour resemble a pebble.
In this fascinating clip, a pebble toad manages to escape a toad-eating tarantula. It does so by curling up into a ball before launching itself down the side of a mountain. How can it possibly survive a fall from such a great height? Watch the clip to find out.
