Clip Description

With the ability to taste with its feet, and with a straw-like mouthpart to suck up nectar, the butterfly is a truly remarkable insect.
In this fascinating clip, African butterflies leave their rainforest behind to follow a river upstream. Their destination is the treeless peak of Mount Mabu, and their goal is to find a mate. Once they have made it to the top, and with enough space to be seen, the male butterflies begin an aerobatic courtship display. What must each butterfly do to stand out from the crowd? Watch the clip to find out.
