The Magellanic penguin is a species of penguin that lives in the seas off the coast of South America – mainly Argentina, Chile and the Falkland Islands. Adults can dive to a depth of up to 50 metres when foraging for prey. It has been discovered that one of their favourite foods is jellyfish!

In this fascinating clip, we find out about the special relationship between Joao, an elderly Brazilian fisherman, and a Magellanic penguin called Jinjing. Jinjing travels thousands of miles each year to visit his lifelong friend – a truly dedicated pal. What do you think could make these two friends so loyal?
