Clip Description

Worldwide, there are over 12,000 different ant species, and they can be found living on every continent except for Antarctica. They are extremely strong, with a single ant being able to carry an object that is 50 times its own body weight. This is equivalent to a human carrying an African elephant!

In this fascinating clip, we learn how leaf cutter ants (like all ant species) are super organised. Each ant has a clearly defined role such as protecting the colony, collecting leaves or using the leaves to grow food.
