Clip Description
Mushrooms and toadstools are neither plants or animals. They belong to the kingdom of fungi. Unlike plants, mushrooms and toadstools do not require sunlight to grow. Instead, they get their nutrition from close-by plants or animals that may be dead or alive. The main parts of these fungi are hidden from view and consist of root-like structures beneath the ground. The umbrella-like fleshy fruits that we see can sometimes be eaten, though many are highly poisonous.
