Morning Starters: Autumn 1 - Bizarre Beasts

Tuesday

Did You Know?

Imagine an animal with a duck’s bill, a beaver’s tail and webbed feet. Meet the duck-billed platypus! It’s a mammal, but it lays eggs. Using its bill, it can sense tiny movements in the water to find food in dark rivers. Males are also venomous. They have sharp stingers on the heels of their rear feet and can use them to deliver a strong toxic blow to any foe. The platypus is one of nature’s strangest creatures!
