Have you ever tried running up a slippery slide? Atlantic salmon face an even tougher challenge when they return from the sea to the rivers where they were born. On their journey, they must leap up rapids and even waterfalls as high as 3 metres. With powerful tails, they spring through the rushing water again and again until they finally succeed. It’s one of the greatest animal migrations on Earth.
