Morning Starters: Spring 1 - Riotous Rainforest

Friday

Did You Know?

Why do you think rainforests face an uncertain future? It’s because too many of their trees are being cut down. People clear forests to grow crops like soy and palm oil or to raise cattle (cows) for their meat. Roads are built for trucks to carry away timber, and mining for oil and precious metals also damages the land and rivers. Protecting rainforests is so important because they provide homes for countless animal species, produce oxygen and help keep the Earth’s climate in balance.
