Morning Starters: Spring 2 - Desert Life

Thursday

Did You Know?

Did you know that the human body can only survive a few days without water. Camels, however, can go for months without drinking. This is thanks to some remarkable adaptations. They can drink large amounts of water at once, and their humps store fat, which can be turned into energy when food and water are scarce. With long eyelashes, closable nostrils and wide feet, camels are perfectly built to travel across sand dunes and withstand sandstorms, earning them the nickname ‘ships of the desert.’
