Morning Starters: Summer 1 - Endangered Animals

Tuesday

Did You Know?

Have you ever seen a furry brown creature splash into a river? That might have been a water vole. These small mammals live in burrows along riverbanks and need plants for food and cover. But water vole numbers are dropping because their habitats are being damaged. Concrete riverbanks, grazing cattle, and farming have destroyed many of the places they need to live. If we don’t protect their fragile habitats, these little swimmers may vanish from our countryside.
