Morning Starters: Summer 1 - Roald Dahl's Animals

Thursady

Did You Know?

Have you ever seen a bird scoop up water in its beak? In Dahl’s The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, a pelican uses his enormous beak like a bucket for window cleaning—and even traps a jewel thief inside it. Real pelicans also use their remarkable beaks as nets, swooping down to scoop fish and water together before draining the water out and swallowing the catch. Their beaks make them some of the best fishermen in the bird world
