Morning Starters: Autumn 2 - Mountain Mammals

Friday

Did You Know?

Mountain lions are known by many names, including cougar, puma and catamount. They are the most wide-ranging cat species in the world and are found as far north as Canada and as far south as Chile. Mountain lion kittens are occasionally removed from their dens by scientists so that they can be fitted with kitten-sized tracking devices. These high-tech collars, carefully designed to be lightweight and non-intrusive, allow researchers to monitor the kittens’ movements, health and survival rates as they grow up in their mountain habitat.
