Jacques Cousteau was a famous French ocean explorer, who introduced millions of people to the underwater world through his documentaries. He helped invent the first scuba diving device in 1943. His wife, Simone, was the first woman scuba diver and aquanaut. She helped buy their beloved ship, the Calypso and saved it during a storm.
