Murchison Falls, located on the River Nile in Uganda, is a breathtaking natural wonder, where the world’s longest river dramatically squeezes through a narrow gorge. This powerful force creates a thunderous waterfall.  Surrounded by lush, wildlife-rich savannah, Murchison Falls is a key feature of the Murchison Falls National Park, which attracts visitors with its stunning scenery and incredible biodiversity, including elephants, lions and numerous bird species.

Word Challenge

A double consonant is when the same consonant appears two times in a row in a word. e.g waterfall 

Compile a list of all the words in the clip description that have double consonants.

Note: A consonant is a letter of the alphabet that is not a vowel. (The vowels are a, e, i, o and u.)

Write a sentence about the waterfall in the photograph that includes a simile. 

e.g. The waterfall’s spray rose into the air like a headless ghost.

Note: The simile could relate to the waterfall’s sound, power or appearance.

Number Challenge

At Murchison Falls, water from the River Nile plunges from a height of 43 metres. The number 43 is a prime number.

List the prime numbers, which are less than 43.

Note: A prime number can only be divided evenly by 1 and the number itself.
