September: Recycle Week
Recycle Week

Did you know?
Recycling is when we take old things like plastic bottles, paper and cans and turn them into new things instead of throwing them away. When we recycle, fewer items end up in rubbish dumps or in nature, which helps protect animals and plants. Recycling also means we use fewer precious natural materials, like trees or oil and helps fight climate change.
Reusing and reducing are just as important as recycling. Reusing means finding ways to use things again instead of throwing them away, like using a water bottle many times or turning an old jar into a pencil holder. Reducing means using less in the first place, like taking only what we need or choosing products with less packaging. By reusing and reducing, we create less waste from the start, making recycling much easier.
