Challenge 1
Avoid repetition and improve the first sentence by using either a pronoun or an alternative noun or noun phrase to describe the barn owl.

Challenge 3
Using some of the words from the Word Wall, write two scintillating sentences about a barn owl. Avoid repetition, and link the second sentence to the first by starting with a pronoun from the list.

1) The barn owl’s long legs, toes and talons helped the barn owl to catch prey hidden in the long grass.
2) Barn owls have excellent eyesight. Excellent eyesight means that barn owls can see animals scurrying about in gloomy barns.
