Rewrite the first sentence using inverted commas to indicate the spoken words.

Following on from the scintillating sentence passage on the previous page, Beatrix suddenly notices that in the distance, a huge bull elephant is striding through the long grass, causing insects to take to the air. Continue the conversation between Beatrix and Bert by talking about this sighting. Don’t forget the rules for writing direct speech and try to include some of the descriptive words on the Word Wall.
