Using some of the words from the Word Wall, write a third paragraph that is about how both crocodiles and alligators display a gentler side by carrying their babies in their mouths. Your paragraph should include a topic sentence and two further sentences.
Crocodiles are often confused with alligators. However, look closely at the mouths of these remarkable reptiles and you will notice that some of a crocodile’s lower teeth show when its mouth is closed. For the alligator, with its broader top jaw, the lower teeth aren’t visible.
Another difference is in their behaviour, with the crocodile being the more aggressive of the two. Unlike alligators, crocodiles are know to attack just because something is close to them. Furthermore, they are far less fussy about what goes into their enormous mouths!
