Clip Description
A rock pool is a shallow pool of seawater that forms on the seashore. They are also called tidal pools because they form at high tide and exist as separate pools of water at low tide. To survive, the animals that call rock pools their home need to be very hardy. They have to deal with various problems such as sun exposure, strong currents and big waves.
In this fascinating clip, we see a variety of incredible species that can be found in rock pools along the coastline of the UK. Hiding is the key to survival for many rock pool creatures. How do you think chameleon prawns manage to escape the animals that might want to eat them? Watch the clip to find out.
