  • Most rock pools are relatively shallow. However, some rock pools can be 2.5 metres deep. Can you find out how many centimetres this would be? Would a rock pool of this depth be deep enough to submerge the world’s tallest person?
  • Now that rocks and beaches are firmly in your mind, have a go at the fabulous Pebbles investigation on the NRICH website, which explores area.
  • In the related clip below, we learn that some sea anemones have 192 feeding tentacles arranged into 6 rows. If there was an equal number of tentacles on each row, how many tentacles would each row have?
