  •  The Multiplication Square Jigsaw is a fabulous interactive puzzle on the NRICH website that will help you see and understand the different number sequences within a multiplication square.
  • Creating a poem that uses rhyme is a great way to learn a multiplication table. Using your favourite animals, see if you can complete the following 4 times table poem:

One times four is four

A lioness hurt her paw

Two times four is eight

A crocodile searched for a mate

  • How quickly can you calculate the number of wildebeest legs that are shown in the photograph below?  (Include any legs that are out of view.)

The easiest way is to calculate the number of  wildebeest legs in the photograph is to do the following calculations:

10 x 4 = 40

10 x 4 = 40

2 x 4 = 8

40 + 40 + 8 = 88
